    ConVal High School Graduation set for June 14, 2025

    Saturday, June 14, was set as the official graduation date by the ConVal School Board in their February 18 meeting.

    The start time for the outdoor ceremony will be at 10:00 am on Stadium Field. If there is inclement weather, the graduation date will remain Saturday, June 14, but will take place inside the Robert McGuire Gymnasium, with the same start time of 10:00 am. 

    Each graduate will be given six (6) tickets for guests to attend outside graduation. If graduation takes place inside, each graduate will be limited to four (4) guests. 

    If the ceremony is conducted outside, there will be additional first-come, first-served self-seating options on the stadium field bleachers. In the past, there have also been some spectators who have watched from outside the stadium field. 

    For viewers who are unable to attend the graduation in person, the event will also be live-streamed online at www.youtube.com/@convalevents.​ 

    If you have any questions, please direct them to ConVal High School’s graduation advisors at graduationadvisor@conval.edu. The graduation advisors will send future updates to candidates for graduation to their school cvsd.me accounts.

    ConVal Regional High School and the Region 14 Applied Technology Center (ATC) do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age in its programs and activities.

    The purpose of the educational program at ConVal Regional High School is to provide students with a college and career readiness curriculum that encompasses knowledge, skills, and competencies for success.

    The Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs at the Region 14 ATC provide students with a wide range of skills demanded in the labor market while preparing them for post-secondary degrees in technical fields.

    Programs include offerings in Automotive Technology, Business, Careers in Education, Computers & Information Technology, Construction Trades, Digital Photo & Video, Engineering, Graphic Design, and Manufacturing.

    Admission to CTE programs is open to all students in grades 10-12. Some programs have an application process and are subject to prerequisites, which are specified in our Program of Studies.

    Running Start and dual credit options with the New Hampshire Community College system are available for an additional fee.

    Eric Carle Museum Field Trip

    Students in Sarah Grossi's Careers in Education II class took a field trip to the Eric Carle Museum in Amherst, Massachusetts, last week.

    The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art is a museum devoted to the art of the picture book and especially the children's book. It is a member of Museums 10 and is adjacent to the campus of Hampshire College.

    Division II State Championship Meet Results

    The boys and girls competed in the Division II State Championship Meet on June 1 at Sanborn High School. The ConVal boys finished in fourth place with 65 points. One school record was tied, and three school records were broken during the meet.

    Will Simard won the 1600-meter run in 4:29.70 and finished second in the 3200-meter run in 9:47.20. Ross Stephens broke his own school record in the 400-meter dash, winning the event in 49.21 seconds. Ross also finished fifth in the 200-meter dash in 22.33 seconds. Kendrick Edwards broke his school record in the long jump with a leap of 21 feet, 3 inches. He tied his school record in the 100-meter dash, running 10.84 seconds and finishing fourth. The 4x400-meter relay team of Kendrick Edwards, Griffin Schultz, Sam Davis, and Ross Stephens finished second in a school-record time of 3:27.28. The 4x100-meter relay team of Elliot Featherstone, Kendrick Edwards, Sam Davis, and Wetu Selby finished in second place in 43.63 seconds.

    Morly Johnson was fourth in shot put with a distance of 44 feet, 1.75 inches and sixth in discus with a throw of 119 feet, 10 inches. Maxx Telofski’s 44-feet, 11.75 inches in the shot put was good for fifth place.

    Whitney Adair was the scorer for the girls’ team, finishing sixth in the 800-meter run in 2:30.08.

    In addition to those point-scorers, several ConVal athletes achieved personal-best performances at the state meet. They included Elliot Featherstone’s 11.31-second 100-yard dash and 22.95-second 200-meter dash, along with Roman Cadwallader’s 116-foot, 6-inch throw of the discus, and the 4x800-meter relay team of Walter Stephens, Ethan Whitaker, Vinny Hollenbeck, and Renzo Patterson finishing in a season-best 9:38.08.

    For the girls, the 4x100-meter relay team of Whitney Adair, Callie Post, Hannah Deschenes, and Larianna Trudel had a season-best time of 56.07 seconds, and the 4x400-meter relay team of Whitney Adair, Sara Mackie, Alia Dodge, and Amelie Davis had their season’s best performance in 4:50.83.


  • Sophomore student candidate gives a speech

    Student Government and Class Council Elections

    Preparations for the student government and class council elections took place during the second half of TASC on Monday, June 2, 2025.

    Freshmen reported to the Lucy Hurlin Theatre, sophomores gathered in the Library, and juniors came together in the ConVal cafeteria to listen to the speeches that were given by candidates for a variety of offices.

    In the afternoon, ballots were mailed out to the freshman, sophomore, and junior classes with a request to vote by the deadline set for June 3 at the end of the school day. Results should be available and ready for morning announcements on Wednesday.

    The World Language Department would like to announce and congratulate the May World Language Students of the Month.

    These students demonstrate the keys to being successful language learners. They have a positive attitude, willingness to take academic risks, perseverance, curiosity and they are successful collaborators.

  • Pops Concert at ConVal

    Pops Concert Showcases Musical Talent

    On Wednesday, May 28, the ConVal Performing Arts Pop Concert took place in the ConVal Gym.

    Under the direction of Brian Moore, several choir ensembles — Chamber Choir, Trouble Clefs, Select Choir, and Concert Choir — performed a wide-ranging contemporary repertoire, including Stevie Wonder's "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing," "Found/Tonight" from the musicals Dear Evan Hansen and Hamilton, "No Time To Die" from the James Bond movie of the same name, "What Was I Made For?" from the Barbie movie, "Leave A Light On (Talk Away The Dark)" by Papa Roach and Carrie Underwood, and the highly rhythmic "Water Fountain" by the tUnE-yArDs.

    The Jazz Band, under the direction of Jonny Trudeau, performed Paul Desmond's "Take 5," made famous by The Dave Brubeck Quartet, and Herbie Hancock's "Chameleon" while the Concert Band performed "Aces of the Air" by Karl L. King, "Never Enough" from the musical The Greatest Showman, "Somewhere (There's A Place For Us)" from Leonard Bernstein's musical West Side Story, and concluded with a medley of John Williams movie scores, entitled "Great Movie Adventures."

    The Pops evening served to showcase the wide-ranging musical talents of ConVal students, with 37 band members and 45 choral members participating in the concert. Many of the students had earned special designations as student leaders, section leaders, instrumental All-State, instrumental Chamber All-State, New England Music Festival Band, vocal All-State, Jazz All-State, or New England Music Festival Choir members.

    In addition, students earned gold medal ratings at the Great East Music Festival, auditioned for honors All-State ensembles, and other honors regional festivals. They also represented ConVal in numerous community performances throughout the year. Congratulations, all!

    "Family Food" Game, A "Family Feud"-Style Competition

    Ms. Young's Anatomy & Physiology class hosted Mr. Winslow's AP Calculus class to compete in a "Family Food" game show. The Anatomy students created and organized questions to demonstrate their understanding of how the digestive system works.


  • Day of Service road cleanup

    Day of Service A Success

    While some off-campus locations canceled their events due to the weather, many other Day of Service activities proceeded despite the rain, including this roadside cleanup on Route 202.

    Students had the opportunity to participate in either one extended or two shorter-time activities, including organizing the Lucy Hurlin Theatre and various classrooms, helping the Antrim and Peterborough Fire Departments, and assisting seniors with using their cell phones.

    Big thanks go out to all the student participants and to the National Honor Society for organizing this community-building event.

    ConVal Students Attend Fair, Tour KSC

    Right after their respective NWEA and NHSAS Science tests, 42 sophomores and juniors attended the New England Association for College Admission Counseling (NEACAC) College Fair and participated in a tour of Keene State College (KSC) today.

    The tour was given by ConVal grad Frank LeBlanc (Class of '24) who just finished his freshman year at Keene State College.
